Three skilled boxers from Baja California have secured their spots in the finals of the 2024 National Popular Games’ boxing competition, currently held at the “Hermanos Flores Magón” Sports Complex in Oaxaca. Yeimi Serena Félix, Evander García, and Britani Rivero emerged victorious in their respective semifinal bouts and will contend for the gold medal on August 25 at 12:00 PM (Central Mexico Time).

Yeimi Serena Félix clinched her place in the finals by defeating Jorge Santana of Durango in the 48-kilogram division through a unanimous decision. Joining her in pursuit of gold, Evander García triumphed in the 66-kilogram division after outmatching his competitor from Nuevo León.

“The matches have been tough; our rivals hit hard, but our rigorous preparation is paying off. I’m in the final now, and I don’t expect anything less than victory—I’m going to win,” said an optimistic Evander García.

In the women’s category, Britani Rivero displayed an excellent performance during the penultimate bout of the competition, winning unanimously against an opponent from Nuevo León in the 60-kilogram division.

Additionally, Roberto López and Héctor Macías brought home bronze medals in the 63-kilogram and 57-kilogram divisions, respectively.
