“243 new security agents graduate in Tecate, ready to serve Baja California’s municipalities, each equipped with vital skills after intensive training. Joining forces to safeguard communities against threats.”

## Baja California Welcomes 243 New Security Agents

A total of 243 individuals, comprising 89 women and 154 men, have celebrated their graduation in the municipality of Tecate after completing their training to join security agencies such as the State Citizen Security Force, the State Investigation Agency, and Municipal Police of various regions including Tijuana, Ensenada, Playas de Rosarito, San Quintín, and San Felipe.

The graduation ceremony highlighted the thorough preparation that these new agents received, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle daily challenges effectively. The event took place in the CENFOCAP esplanade and was presided over by Baja California’s Secretary of Security, General Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar, alongside other officials from across the region.

Starting promptly at 10:00 AM, the ceremony was attended by family and friends of the graduates. José Fernando Sánchez, the Secretary of Citizen Security in Tijuana, announced that 58 of the new municipal police officers would be joining Tijuana’s force, addressing the city’s current deficit of approximately 2,000 officers as per population index guidelines.

Notably, no new officers were designated for Tecate’s police force. General Leopoldo Tizoc urged the new agents to use their newfound skills to serve their communities with integrity, remaining vigilant against internal corruption and criminal influences.

In response to the ongoing demand for security personnel, Baja California authorities have launched additional recruitment drives to bolster their police forces. The recruitment initiatives include rigorous training programs designed to prepare new cadets for the diverse challenges they will face on duty. These programs emphasize not only physical fitness but also legal knowledge and community relations.

This decision aligns with the region’s broader strategy to enhance public safety amid rising concerns over crime rates. Recent crime statistics in Baja California underscore the critical need for more trained officers. For instance, Tijuana has seen an alarming increase in violent crimes, necessitating urgent reinforcement of its security apparatus.
