### Art Raffle to Support Camelia García Arellano

Friends and family of Tijuana-based writer and journalist Camelia García Arellano are organizing a raffle to raise funds for her cancer treatment. The initiative, led by the collective “United for Camelia’s Health,” aims to cover the costs of ongoing medical studies and medications.

Camelia was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2020, and the wider artistic and journalistic communities in Baja California and Mexico City have rallied around her. Earlier this year, the collective launched a campaign to raise 400,000 pesos, but they fell short of the goal. To continue supporting her, Laura Jáuregui, an editor from Tijuana and a friend of Camelia, has taken the lead in organizing this raffle.

Eight art pieces, including five plastic arts pieces, one literary poster, and two photographs, have been donated by friends and artists from Tijuana, nearby areas, and Mexico City. Some of the contributing artists include Francisco Morales, Rocío Hoffman, Teresa López Avedoy, Carlos Martínez, Felipe Posada, Hans Giébe, Daniel GM, and Milagros a Mano.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase at 150 pesos each. Those interested can contact Laura Jáuregui via WhatsApp at (664) 341-67-45. The raffle will be held on Sunday, October 6, through a live Facebook event on the “United for Camelia’s Health” page.

### Secondary Article: Expanded Support Efforts for Artists with Medical Needs

As the arts community continues to rally around one of their own, other similar efforts have sprung up to support artists and cultural figures facing medical crises. According to recent reports, several other notable fundraising campaigns have been launched to provide much-needed financial help.

1. **Art Auction for Medical Relief**:
In Mexico City, an art auction was recently held to support Diego Rodríguez, another well-known figure in the local arts scene, who is battling a rare form of leukemia. The auction featured works from prominent artists and was able to raise over 500,000 pesos to aid with his medical expenses.

2. **Musician Fundraiser in Baja California**:
In Ensenada, a benefit concert featuring several local bands was organized to raise funds for musician Carla Ramirez, who requires a heart transplant. The event drew significant attention and amassed 200,000 pesos.

3. **Literary Evening for Health Support**:
Guadalajara hosted a literary evening and book sale dedicated to supporting poet Andrea Jiménez, who is undergoing treatments for breast cancer. The initiative not only provided financial support but also spread awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups.

These community-driven efforts highlight the solidarity and compassion within the arts world, and the significant impact they have in times of need. For those who want to contribute to similar causes, keeping an eye on local events and social media campaigns is a great way to stay informed and show support.
