## Members of Sinaloa Cartel Cell Linked to Arson Attacks in Mexicali
Authorities in Mexicali have linked several individuals to a criminal cell responsible for a series of arson attacks targeting nightclubs and bars in the area. The suspects, identified as Irina Ariana Velázquez Arciniega, Luis Andrés Valadez Patiño, Litzy Yamileth Estrada Silva, Arsenio Flores López, and Emanuel Reynoso Castro, are believed to be part of the Los Salazar group, a faction of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel.
The arrests, which took place on June 25th, followed a police raid on a residence in the Prohogar neighborhood of Mexicali. During the operation, authorities seized five long guns, a handgun, eleven magazines, and 383 live rounds.
On November 5th, a specialized judge ordered the suspects to remain in preventative detention while the investigation continues. The prosecution has been granted three months to compile their evidence and conclude the investigation.
These developments come in the aftermath of a series of intentional fires at entertainment venues in Mexicali, including the popular spot “La Conse.” The Baja California Attorney General’s Office has been conducting extensive investigations and searches, which ultimately led to the capture of the alleged arsonists.
