**Arrest Made in the Murder of Chinese Businessman and His Associate**

In a recent development, Deyanira Michell N has been apprehended on charges of involvement in the murder of businessman Da Teng Chen and his associate Victor Manuel Pinedo. The incident, which occurred on May 23, 2023, took place in the Costco parking lot in La Mesa, Tijuana.

The crime unfolded around 3:38 PM when emergency services received reports of gunfire targeting the occupants of a luxury vehicle in the store’s parking lot on Vía Rápida Poniente. Chen and Pinedo were in a black Mercedes-Benz when a black Infinity approached them. One of the attackers exited the vehicle and opened fire on the victims before fleeing in a gray Kia.

Da Teng Chen succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, while Victor Manuel Pinedo died from gunshot wounds to the chest. Deyanira Michell N, who was arrested in the Sonora neighborhood of Tijuana, is believed to have been the getaway driver.

This arrest follows the previous capture of Ismael Alejandro N, known as “El Mayo,” and Ricardo N, both charged with qualified homicide. Ricardo N was detained on August 21, 2023, and Ismael Alejandro N was apprehended on August 22, 2023.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has collected various pieces of evidence and witness testimonies, leading to these arrests. The attack appears to have been a targeted act against Chen and his associate. According to the Public Property and Commerce Registry, Chen was a partner in several companies, including Confort Rents, C&L Invertmex, and Tecnología Global Emprendedora CF, among others.

The late businessman also co-owned the China King Buffet restaurant in Plaza China. Notably, in March 2023, human remains were discovered in plastic bags within a container at the restaurant location. Additionally, in December 2022, Chinese restaurant owners reported extortion from organized crime groups following the burning of three vehicles at the Mykasa establishment.
