President Andrés Manuel López Obrador expressed his satisfaction and peace of mind in a recent video spot marking the commencement of his sixth and final government report. The spot began circulating on Sunday, August 26, 2024.

“Starting tomorrow, these messages will be broadcast on radio and television, as permitted by law, to mark my sixth and final report. Thank you,” announced the national leader on his social media account.

“We turned many dreams into realities,” emphasized the President in a 30-second video recorded in one of the hallways of the National Palace.

“At the very least, our assistance reaches the majority of households in our country, and all senior citizens are entitled to a pension. We did it collectively. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” highlighted the politician from Tabasco.

The nation’s constitution prohibits the dissemination of personalized governmental propaganda. However, Article 242 of the General Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures (LEGIPE) outlines some exceptions.

“For the purposes of the eighth paragraph of Article 134 of the Constitution, the annual work report and the messages disseminated through social media to publicize it will not be considered propaganda, provided the dissemination is limited to once a year and does not exceed seven days before and five days after the date on which the report is presented,” states Article 242 of LEGIPE.
