**Body of Adara Paulina to be Transferred to Colima on Thursday**
By Mara Yáñez, August 6, 2024
The family of Uber driver Adara Paulina Hernández Abaroa received her body from the Forensic Service (SEMEFO) on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 6th. According to Eddy Carrillo from the foundation “Todos Somos Erick Carrillo,” the body will arrive in Colima, where her family resides and where she will be laid to rest, by Thursday, August 8th.
Carrillo stated, “We establish contact with the family and act as a bridge to the prosecutor’s office. Today, the prosecutor’s office is in Tijuana, and the body has been delivered.”
Thirty-six-year-old Hernández Abaroa went missing on July 24th after leaving her home in the Cedros neighborhood. Her colleagues last communicated with her while she was providing a service in the Florido Barcelona neighborhood.
Carrillo’s foundation, along with the group Una Nación BuscandoT, joined the search effort on Wednesday, July 31st. The Local Commission for the Search of Missing Persons and the State’s General Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) also joined. The search led to the discovery of a lifeless body on Calle del Diablo in the Ejido Lázaro Cárdenas.
“We discovered these points through our foundation’s work and anonymous tip-offs, leading us to this residence where we found her,” explained Carrillo, adding that earlier searches at two other locations were unsuccessful.
Despite successfully finding the body, Carrillo highlighted concerns over the lack of security during the search, as the house was a known drug den with armed individuals. Nevertheless, they proceeded and discovered Hernández Abaroa’s body. Authorities took over the area afterward.
“We complement the strategy with the prosecutor’s office, making discoveries and establishing contact with the families for identification or genetic testing purposes,” said Carrillo.
The family confirmed Hernández Abaroa’s identity through her tattoos upon their arrival in Tijuana on Friday, August 2nd.
Authorities have informed the family that the costs for her transport, burial, vigil, and cemetery services would be fully covered.
“We intervened to ensure the family received this support, as it’s not always provided. Another family from Colima hasn’t received such support, and they are staying in one of our foundation’s houses,” added Carrillo.
The family was handed Hernández Abaroa’s body around 5:00 p.m. for transport to Colima, where she will be buried.
