### Adame Unveils Cabinet Members for Rosarito

Newly elected mayor of Rosarito, Rocío Adame Muñoz, introduced the 15 individuals who will form the primary departments of her administration in the X Ayuntamiento de Rosarito. The announcement was made on September 26, 2024, with the final appointment for the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection set to be submitted to the council by October 1.

Adame expressed a preference for a civilian to head security, though she did not rule out a military appointee due to ongoing coordination with state and federal governments. “It’s not that I’m against the military because they have been doing a great job and providing support,” she stated. Enhancing the municipal police force is a priority, with a plan to equip each officer with a personal camera.

For the first time in Rosarito’s administration, a Cabinet Coordination office has been established and will be led by Briza Ariadna Bentley Ramírez. Bentley previously worked in the state administration of Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda as a prosecutor for the Protection of Children and Adolescents and served in citizen attention roles during a previous administration.

Other notable appointments include Daniela Lizbeth Urías Barajas as Treasurer, who has prior experience as the Subdirector of Audit in Ensenada and San Quintín, and Ramón Celestino Medrano Aguilar as the Official Mayor, a role he previously performed as a municipal judge in Rosarito.

The General Secretary position will be filled by Santos de Jesús Alvarado Avena, previously a Morena council member and involved in federal social programs under Enrique Peña Nieto. Luis Fernando González Vergara will lead the Department of Urban Development and Services, bringing experience as a member of the College of Civil Engineers of Tijuana.

Ilse Yanett Rodríguez Ramos was appointed Secretary of Welfare, having served in a federal welfare role during the administration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador and in the Tijuana municipal government. The Tourism Committee (COTUCO) will be led by Irán Leonardo Verdugo Contreras, who retains his position from the outgoing administration.

The municipal DIF will be headed by Suldma Corina Beltrán Montes, and Armando González de la Fuente will lead IMAC. Hugo Monroy Rubio will return to IMDET, having previously served there. Rebeca Bejarano Maya will direct INMUJER, and Josué Armando Zamora Ponce will lead IMJUVER.

Dalia Salazar Ruvalcaba will helm IMPLAN, transitioning from her role as a council member for the Movimiento Ciudadano. Additionally, Susana Kareli Bátiz Trujillo will coordinate COPLADEM while Genessis Leaineli Bautista Curiel will manage social communication.

In response to questions about the Fire Department’s leadership, Adame confirmed Joaquín Mercado as the head, noting his strong ties and resource networking capabilities with U.S. organizations. Despite Mercado being from Tecate, Adame defended the decision, stating he brings valuable expertise to Rosarito.
