**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Relocated in Rosarito Due to Complaints**

In Rosarito, four state police officers have been temporarily removed from their duties following complaints that emerged shortly after the State Police assumed control of local security on March 7th. These developments come after formal grievances were filed against them.

Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, reported that one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office while another was directed to the Internal Control Body of the security department. “We are currently investigating two formal complaints concerning the state police,” Carrillo Rodríguez stated. He also noted that additional allegations on social media are being examined, although no further formal reports have been made.

Regarding the four officers, Carrillo Rodríguez confirmed that they have been reassigned for precautionary reasons as investigations proceed. “While there is no concrete evidence linking them to the accusations, they are being relocated for safety during the investigation,” he said.

Since early March, the State Police have been overseeing security duties in Rosarito, after taking over from the 264 municipal officers. These municipal officers are now undergoing comprehensive evaluations, including psychological, medical, and toxicology testing, as well as background checks and polygraph exams. Additionally, their firearms are being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

This instance of accountability within the police ranks is a rare occurrence, indicating a potential shift towards a more transparent and responsible law enforcement system in Rosarito. It marks the beginning of what many hope will be an extensive reform in the region’s security forces.
